Saughall All Saints – Sport for ALL!

Saughall All Saints has been awarded the GOLD Kitemark for the second year running for outstanding PE across all areas of competition (Level 1, 2 and 3 of the School Games Pathway), inclusion, Leadership for young people, our PE curriculum and links with external clubs.

We also received the Achievement award for outstanding contribution to sport at the second ever Cheshire Schools Awards in July 2016. We are very proud of this award as a recognition for encouraging all of our children to lead healthy and active lives both now and in the future.

An Enriched Sporting Curriculum of opportunities for all.

School Sports – Inter school competitions – outcomes from autumn term competitions:

  • Tag Rugby – Chester Rugby Club – Y3 and Y4 mixed –

    A superb afternoon at the Rugby Festival with many victories for both teams. The year 4 team were undefeated in all of their games.

  • Tag Rugby mixed Y5/6- Chester Rugby Club –

    ‘A’ team – runners up in the group.

    ‘B’ team – Winners of their group and narrowly missed out in their semi-final game by one ‘try’

  • Y5/6 Football ‘Primaryship’ league and Chester Schools Cup –

    Currently 2nd in the league with three games to play.

  • Saturday morning Cross country Races – West Cheshire Athletics – Stanney Athletics Club –

    Two successful outings from our cross country runners in October and November with Gold, silver and bronze medals being awarded to some of our children.

  • Quick Sticks Hockey – Chester Schools Competition – Y5/6

    ‘A’ team – runners up in their group.

    ‘B’ team – Silver medallists – Chester Schools B team competition.

  • Chester Schools Girls Football competition –

    Silver medallists and County Finalists (to be played 27.1.17)

  • Basketball – Hoops4Health competition at EPSV and Cheshire Phoenix –

    Silver medallists

    Sports Funding:

    Teacher’s CPD and enhanced coaching for specialist areas of the PE curriculum are through using our sports funding to pay for external coaches to deliver excellent PE lessons. We have the following coaches in school throughout the Autumn term working with children throughout the school.

    Sports coaches – two afternoons per week working with all Year 1/2 classes and all ear 3/4 classes.

    Dance Specialist – one afternoon a week working with Year 5/6 dance competition group (elite performers).

    We are also a very active member of CSSP (Chester Schools Sports Partnership) which allows us to participate in the inter school competition pathway across the county.

    Gemma Cook is the Secretary of the CSSA (Chester School Sports Association) who organise all of the inter schools football competitions, x-country, athletics and swimming competitions throughout the year.
