Reception: Mrs Hooper and Mr Jarvis' Classes 2018 - 2019

Mr Jarvis

Welcome to the Spring Term!

We are now encouraging the children to come into the classroom by themselves to develop their independence. Thank you for your support with this.

What’s happening this term

Our topic this half term is 'To Infinity and Beyond!'. Throughout this topic we will be learning about different planets, famous astronauts and the moon. We plan to produce art work around this theme including making collage planets. We will also listen to Gustav Holst 'Planets' compostion and produce some of our own music based on this.

Each week in literacy we will have a book of the week based on space, we will develop our literacy skills by writing captions, lists and simple sentences.

In maths we will be focusing on estimating, numbers 1-20, ordering and sequencing events, number bonds and adding/subtracting.
