Key Stage 1 2019 - 2020

Mr Murphy

Summer Term Arrangements

Each week, from Monday 20th April, we will be uploading a timetable detailing daily literacy, maths, and foundation lessons for the children to complete at home with links to relevant pages and work. You can find this in the ‘Files to Download’ section, towards the bottom of the page.  Files uploaded from previous weeks will all be bundled in the 'Previously Uploaded Files' download.

We have provided general work for each year group rather than attainment-specific activities.  If your child has tried their best but one or two of the questions/activities are too challenging, even after being helped by an adult, don’t worry.  Just move on to the next one.

To help you support children with Special Educational Needs or disabilities, the BBC have created a toolkit of videos, guidance and activities, which you can access here.

Oh... and if you haven't already seen it, here's how your teachers are keeping themselves busy during the lockdown:

Look after yourselves at home - and hopefully we will see you all soon!

Our previous guidance is still available below for those who still wish to make use of it.  The original activity packs that we handed out before lockdown have been bundled into single files for download near the bottom of the page, entitled 'Original Home Learning Pack (Y1)' and 'Original Home Learning Pack (Y2)', respectively.

What is expected of the children while they are at home?
The packs that were sent out on the last day of school have many different ideas of activities linked to reading, writing, spelling, phonics, maths and science.  If you have misplaced this or did not receive one, we have uploaded a copy of each of the files included in the pack to the class page.

Please note that these packs are not compulsory and they will not be marked so please do not return them to school.  They are intended to help support you while your child is at home during this difficult time.

Tips and Guidance for Home Schooling
Not only is lovereading4kids a wonderful website in its own right but, right now, it has put together a super helpful page full of advice for parents who are home-schooling their children.  It is packed full of general guidance as well as links to many companies, such as Audible, who are making some or all of their content free to help keep us busy at this strange time!

Check it out here:
